This 2x20 Vacuum Fluorescent Display illuminates bright green characters on a deep black background. The VFD technology is engineered to provide high contrast viewing with vivid characters, making it a great choice for applications where readability is essential. This display is also fully compatible with Arduino, which allows for easy connectability and a wider range of applications.
This VFD module comes complete with a DC-DC converter, so only 5.0V is required to operate the display, as well as a built-in PT6314 controller, and a 2x7 gold plated header soldered onto the back of the display. Additionally, a character generator ROM with 240 5x8 characters is provided along with RAM for the user to program an additional 8 characters. The luminance level of the VFD can be varied by setting two bits in the function set instruction. Designed to withstand extreme operating conditions, the dot matrix display utilizes a self-emitting fluorescent light, which allows the display to operate exceptionally when used within a temperature range from -40 to 85 degrees Celsius. It has ESD protection, 5x8 dots with cursor, parallel or serial interface, and is RoHS compliant.
