The Newhaven 16x2 character LCD is a dot matrix display that shows dark pixels on a bright, pure green background. This transflective LCD can be used with natural light or in environments with low light conditions using the powerful LED backlight. It features a wide operating temperature range from -20 to 70 degrees Celsius, a built-in ST7066U controller, a great 6:00 viewing angle, and connecting pins on top and bottom of the display that simplifies design.
This 2 rows, 16 character display adheres to the highest quality standards and is RoHS compliant. It operates with a power supply of 5 volts that uses a parallel communication interface, which makes it compatible with popular development boards, including Arduino.

affordable, easy to use, bright
Works as advertised. The screen is bright and vibrant perfect for a simple menu or readout. The only con is for the size in general, 16 character 2 line displays are pretty limiting to what you can do with them, so as long as you can count out what you want before purchasing you are fine.
