About the Role
Newhaven Display is seeking a high-energy, detail-oriented Senior Quality Engineer who thrives on taking ownership and driving high-level technical strategy. In this role, you won’t just be “checking parts”—you will be a key architect of our quality standards and a technical leader across our organization. We are looking for a professional with the natural leadership ability to bridge the gap between engineering, our global supply base, and our customers, ensuring every display we ship exceeds industry expectations.
This is a high-impact position designed for someone who is as comfortable performing a deep-dive failure analysis in the lab as they are acting as a strategic steward for our compliance and quality systems. If you are a technical expert who enjoys mentoring teams, influencing cross-functional processes, and shaping the future of a quality department, we want to hear from you.
What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities)
1. Strategic Quality & Compliance
- Regulatory Stewardship: Own and ensure total compliance with environmental and statutory requirements, including RoHS, REACH, and Conflict Minerals.
- Customer Advocacy: Immerse yourself in our customer base to understand their unique requirements; ensure our internal standards are perfectly aligned with their expectations.
- Testing Innovation: Evaluate and revolutionize our in-house testing processes (including DVT, HALT, and Reliability testing) to establish industry-leading benchmarks.
- Data-Driven Strategy: Collate and analyze quality KPIs to prioritize Corrective Actions and drive high-impact Engineering Change Orders (ECOs).
2. Product & Process Excellence
- Portfolio Optimization: Execute targeted initiatives to improve product quality by analyzing specification changes and their impact on the overall portfolio.
- Root Cause Mastery: Direct the execution of Customer Failure Analysis and Supplier Corrective Actions (SCARs).
- Documentation Control: Set up and maintain rigorous testing documentation and procedural controls across all locations.
3. Team Leadership & Supplier Management
- Mentorship: Manage and train operating staff on test procedures, approvals, and quality methods; be a champion for change and a teacher of new, more efficient quality practices.
- Supplier Vetting: Assess our global supply base to ensure their quality capabilities meet Newhaven’s high standards; team with vendors to resolve part-family defects at the source.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Facilitate communication between departments to drive quality initiatives from concept to successful validation.
What You Bring
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience: 5+ years in a Senior Quality or Process Engineering role (Electronics/Display experience is a huge plus).
- Technical Expertise: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field with 5+ years of experience.
- Schematic Mastery: Proven ability to read and write schematics and technical specifications with high precision.
- Testing & FA: Expertise in Failure Analysis, Metrology, and Reliability testing (HALT/HASS).
- Compliance Knowledge: Deep familiarity with global electronics regulations (RoHS, REACH, Conflict Minerals).
- Communication: Excellent writing skills with the ability to draft professional, technical communications for customers and stakeholders.
- Software: Proficiency in data analysis tools (Minitab, JMP, or similar) and CAD software (SolidWorks/AutoCAD).
Core Competencies
- Detail-Oriented: Superior attention to detail is a must; you catch the small things that others miss.
- Multi-Tasking: Strong organizational skills and the ability to effectively multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
- Service Mindset: A strong commitment to customer service, ensuring our clients receive top-tier support and technical resolution.
